At the Anglican Congress, tb Bishop of Riverina read a paper dealing with marriage and the birth-rate. He said be had been forced to the unpleasant conclusion that while tir West, including ourselves; was under mining its strength by luxury and v lack of the seriousness of infidelity the East, by self-denial, alertness and numbers, was growing strong?’ and stronger, and would become,conscious of her strength. There wer Christian nations who were refusing their inheritance, and by wanton race suicide were surrendering the sceptc to the East.
