Mr Walter M. Marks, owner of the yacht CuUvalla ill., has accepted an offer of a seat in the challenger Shamrock when she competes in the America Cud.

NORTH v. SOUTH LADIES

In the hockey match North versus South Island, the North won by four goals to one. The South had bad luck in not scoring more in the second spell.
Taranaki were not very successful in the ladies’ tournament at "Wanganui. They competed in the dj. Section, being last on tire list with 4 losses, 1 draw, and no win. Thirty-five goals were scored against Taranaki, while they registered four goals.

Playing Palkiner, Reece scored (j 7o and 1328 at a single session, chiefly by close cannon and top of tlie table play. On Saturday he scored two othei world’s records, making 886 in fortyeight minutes, by three visits, and 2/58 for a day’s play.
