At the Aisgil! enquiry, the Superintendent added that tests were made of the cylinders, which wore recovered intact, and these showed that no gas could have been left in the exhaust cylinders two-and-a-bnlf minutes after ' he accident, hence it was evident the hre originated in the driver’s ashpan, and the passenger who stated he saw i gas jet burning was mistaken.
