CARDIFF NOTES.

The school concert eventuated or. Friday night last, and being a beautiful moonlight night a full and appreciative , house assembled to hear the children The proceeds were devoted to the piano fund. The Chairman oi the School Committee (.Mr J. [W. Rogers) presided, and the following programme was rendered very pleasingly (Miss McCarty, the head teacher, receiving great praise for the mannei in which the pupils acquitted themselves):—Pianoforte selection, Miss M Rogers; song "Dreaming of Home and Mother," Senior Pupils; dialogue, "Little Helpers," Six Junior Pupils, action song, "Playtime," Junior Pupils; pianoforte selection, Miss Freda Belcher ; pa rt song, "Come from Toil,' Senior Pupils; dialogue, "The Peacemaker," J. McFadgen, P. Crossley, T. Prebble, A. Dymond, V. Wisnewski, \V. Barker; action song, "The Cobbler," Junior Pupils; song, "Be Happy," Senior Girls ; pianoforte selection. Miss Connie Smith; part song, "Summer is Passing By," Senior Girls and Boys; dialogue, "Choosing Vocations," Masters R. Smith and C. Stewart and Misses F. Green well, R. Blair, and F. Mander; song, "Old Dog Tray," Senior Girls and Boys; dialogue, "Blind Obedience," Senior Boys. The adult* now took a hand and rendered the following items:-—Song, Mr J. T. Belcher; song, Mrs Greenwell (encored); song, Mr C. Coldwell (encored); violin solo, Mr McLennan (encored). This concluded the concert, and supper was partaken of after which the,room was cleared and a very enjoyable dance was indulged in. The accompaniments were played by Miss E. Coldwell and Master D. Belcher, and the music for the dance was supplied by Mr McLennan (violin) and Mr R. A. Belcher and Mr C. Coldwell (piano). Mr D Cameron carried out the duties o' M.C. very efficiently. In the neighbor hood of 2 a.m. proceedings came tc a everyone voting the entertainment first-class.
