could congratulate i)r. Beatty on the accommodation provided at Avondale for pigs, but was sorry that ho could net congratulate him on tho accommodation for patients. He went on to criticise mis-spelling in the report. "Is it a new disease?"; aslceu Mr i Wilford, quoting one of the words wrongly spdt. Mr 11. H. Rhodes, the Minister, explained that the copy was only a rough ona procured hurriedly for the benefit of members. "
Mr Wilford, continuing,.'said that lie was against reducing Dr. Beatty's salary. He thought he should be provided £IOOO instead of £650, ' and would vote against the amendment. rho chairman put the question for the reduction of Dr. Bcatty' : s .salary and it wont through without,opposition. ■ " !''•'! *!'■;.

The discussion on these lines continued till 5.30, when the House adjourned till 7.30.
At 11.50 Mr Massey roso and protected against this ."silry and mast unreasonable stonewall." He proceeded to review the events of the preceding thirty hours, but was- compelled to resume his seat on a point of order by Mr T. M. Wilford, who asked if it were competent for the Prime Minister to review the doings of the House on a motion to report progress. For ten minutes Mr Massey endeavoured to make his speech, but each time he .(.-(,t started he was interrupted witi. "point of order, Mr Chairman," until mis minute to midnight, when the chairman left the chair, intimating th it he- would resume at 2.30 on Monday.
