ARCHBISHOP O'SHEA.
VISIT TO STRATFORD
Archbishop O'Shea commenced his first visit to Taranaki since his consecration on Saturday night, arriving by the mail train from Wellington. He was met on the station by a number of prominent members of the local Roman Catholic congregation. • CONFIRMATION SERVICE.
The Archbishop conducted all the services yesterday at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, and at a confirmation service at 11 o'clock a large number were confirmed.
AT THE CONVENT SCHOOL
This morning Archbishop O'Shea visited the Convent school, the pupils 'contributing some entertaining items. TO-NIGHT'S CONVERSAZIONE.
At the Town Hall this evening a conversazione will be tendered to the Archbishop, who will be presented, with an address by Mr W. G. Malone. The Mayor'(Mr W. P. JKrk : wood) will preside. The church choir will render three choruses, and the Convent school pupils will give two dances. Mrs C. Massey, Miss A. Sullivan, Messrs. M. P. Anderson, and 1\ A. Lonergan will sing a quartette, and Messrs. V, Miscall and A. Sullivan will give "Tired," as a vocal duet. Songs will be contributed by Mrs Massey, • Misses E. Tocker and M. Sheahan, and Messrs T. Wilson and T. A. Lonergan. Misses A. Robson aiuFAV. Fitzgerald will contribute a'pianoforte duet, and Miss Fitzgerald a pianoforte solo. No charge will be
made for admission
