Gutwirth, at one interview, reported that the expenses in connection with the enterprise totalled £2400, which included £IOO each to two postmen. He did not mention whether they were French or English.
Gutwirth added that Lockett had charge of the pearls: Quadrenstein gave evidence that Gutwirth stated that Lockett snatched Goldschmidt’s hag of jewels at the Cafe Monied on July 2nd, 1909.
