Shortly after 2 p.m. the wind lulled, and rain began to fall, continuing intermittently throughout the remainder of the afternoon. The course was in perfect order, and the greens played exceptionally well. Forty competitors have entered for the championship. Nino games completing the first heat were got off during the day.
