In the Assembly, the Speaker announced that he did not intend to fil the seat rendered vacant by the death of Mr Kelly this session. Mr Holman announced that he hop od to close the session in the first week of October and perhaps a week earlier. He outlined the measure: the Government intended to pass, in eluding a Vaccination Bill before Parliament dissolved. Mr Wade launched another censilrf motion, condemning the,action of tin Minister of Works in connection wit! the proposed Sydney and other railways, also certain land purchases. 1 The Assembly adjourned till to-mor row.

A return shows that in addition to their Parliamentary salaries, sever members of the Assembly, forming the Public Works Committee for the past 31 months received £10,415 in lees a. -the rate of £l2 per week. An- addi tional picking was £1 10s 6d as daily allowance when absent froir Sydney.
