A DUNEDIN PROTEST

Dunedin, September 9

A meeting of shareholders of the Bank of New Zealand was held here] to-day to consider the provisions of the Bank of s'ew Zealand Bill now before Parliament, when the following resolution was carried unanimously: —"That this meeting is of opinion that the Bill is an injustice to the present shareholders of the Bank in two respects: (1) That it practically deprives them of any voice in the management of the affairs of the Bank; (2) that the interest to be allowed upon B preference shares should be no greater than that previously allowed to the Government in respect of A preference shares.
