AMUSEMENTS.

HIS MAJESTY'S PICTURES

To-night will see the finale of a

magnificent series of star pictures, making way for a, gigantic change on Thursday evening. The extraordinary interest evinced in the series-of striking film subjects, in which the Clevel-

and popular Danish actress, Miss Asta Nielsen appears, shows no signs of abatement, and the production, "The Heart- of the Pierrot," will be the star production. Kamma Dieser, the well-known actress, having had her marriage dissolved with Zelton Dieser, lives quietly at home with her it do son Maurice. Arthur Litchtin-

ger wishes to produce a new play

he has written at Kamma's theatre. He and Kamma fall in love and

happiness seem within their reach, when her little son falls ill and consequently asks her to bring his father

to him. Zelton Dieser comes to vis son. The first night of "Death of Pierrot" arrives and Kamma,' while waiting for the rise of the curtain is told that her son is gradually sinking. In a few minutes she is being

Iriven home, but Litchtinger is able

to persuade her to return. Before the last act she is told that her son has died. She sees Zelton Dieser making love with Margaret. In the last act a duel takes place between/'Pierrot" and "Pierrette" (his rival, which is placed by Zelton). Kamma removes the protecting 'caps from the foile. The combat commences and Zelton pierces "Pierrot" through the neart unaware that the point of his foil was bare. No one relises that the play has turned to tragedy until the curtain falls.

Flic sustaining pictures are of more

han usual interest. One film depicts he scene in. which a suffragette icuitly threw herself before the King's

horse during a race. The horse and jockey were badly injured and the suffragette was carried away dying. This hapened right close to itie camera, and the film is a clear one. Six entrants, "local and Eltham, will provide amusement on Friday evening at the amateur trials.
