ESCAPE OF THE SYDNEY PATIENTS. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association. 1 (Received 9.20 a.m.) Sydney, September 8; The five smallpox patients who escaped from quarantine, but later voluntarily returned, scaled a fifteen feet wall, and fom: wire fences. Besides visiting and making purchases at shops they mingled freely with tjie crowd in the streets. They rendered themselves liable to a fine of £IOO or two years’ imprisonment. To prevent further escapes, the police now patrol the Quarantine boundaries.
