Auckland, September 5

At the Police Court this afternoon, James Leonard and Phillip O'Donnell, each 19 years of age, were charged that, on August 17 in Wellington, they stole jewellery and money to the value of £lO3 .from the dwelling house of F. C. Sanders, and that on "August 24 they broke and entered the dwelling of Charles Cooper, Esplanade road, .Mount Eden, and stole a safety razor, gold brooch, silver brooch, gold ring,.two purses and £1 in money. Accused pleaded guilty and were committed to the Supreme Court at Wellington for sentence on the second charge. On the other charge they were remanded to Wellington. Wellington, September 5.

At the annual meeting of the Wellington Woollen Company to-<lay, the chairman referred to the company's record year, and the meeting passed a dividend of eight per cent. The report and balance-sheet were unanimously adopted. Wellington, September 6.

Charles. F. Page, who was in business at tho Magistrate's Court—? ness as an advertising expert, appeared at the Magistrate's Court today, charged with attempting suicide on 18th August, when he went into a bookseller's shop and fired a revolver bullet into his head. Since then he has been in the hospital. Magistrate Riddell ordered Page to come up for sentence when called upon, also to pay £5 9s.expenses and be made the subject of a prohibition order.
