DIES IN PiIISON

[Ukited Press (Association.] Vancouver, September 4. The death has occurred in prison
at Georgia of a man named Bell, a miner, and the most notorious trainrobber and goalbreaker in North America. For 50 years he was engaged in robbing trains, and wis frequently captured. He was imprisoned for life, but managed to escape many years ago. He partook in the Australian rushes, and ->vas prominent around Coolganlie. He was afterwards engaged in the slave trade in Turkey. He was never guilty of violence, even when he could thus gain his freedom. He was known to have done many acts of benevolence, and wa*> well educated. Ho lias often been reported as dend, and read hiis obituary notices in ihe newspapers with great amusement.
