An extraordinary development has occurred in the Thaw case. A warrant has been taken out against the New York State Attorney, Sir Jerome, accusing him of gambling on railway property. Mr Jerome admitted that he had engaged in a card game with newspaper men for trifling stakes. He was admitted to bail after he was brought before the Magistrate. The charge was instigated on the behalf of Thaw's lawyer with the object of preventing Mr Jerome participating in the case.
