The Times' Berlin correspondent, referring to the scheme to secure the influence of the foreign press, states that the ambition of Germany is to be independent of English cables. With this object, attempts are being made to establish wireless communication between Nauen and the Camcrooms. It is also proposed to establish a German wireless chain in the South Seas. A station is to be built at Samoa with a range of three thousand kilometres and stations at New Guinea and the Marshall Islands, all connected through a Dutch cable. Recent experiments had stimulated these . schemes. . It is reported that a connection has been established be-
tween Hanover and Tuokerton (United States) a distance of GGOO kilometres.
