AN UNFORTUNATE PORTER

Wellington, September 1
A railway porter named Robert Arkwright was the victim of a serious "ccident at the Lower Hutt this evening. Ho was assisting in shunting, and while riding on a car apparently slipped as ho attempted to jump ofl at the signal box. Tlo suffered a compound fracture, of the left leg, air had a flesh wound on the right leg He was brought to the city by special train and sent to the hospital.
