The body of Virgin, author of the Kaimata tragedy of August 11, was found by Constable Smyth in the Manganui river this morning about half a mile below the bridge from which he was supposed to have thrown himself. THE REPORT CORROBORATED. Inglewood, September 1. It has just been reported that Virgin's body has been found in. the Manganui river about half a mile from the bridge where his clothes were found on the morning of • the tragedy. COVERED BY ONLY THREE FEET OF WATER. CONSTABLES' PATIENT V/AIT. Inglewood, September 4. The body of Virgin has just been brought into town by the. finders. It is, naturally, in a state of decomposition. Constables Please] and Smythc are the finders. The body was six yards from the bank, lying face downwards in three feet of water. The constables have been watching since, Tuesday, and the river had lowered by two feet since then, hence the find. The discovery of the body sots finally at rest the many suggestions—senseless and otherwise—as to the unfortunate man's motive m'kl movements In connection with this dreadful tragedy. To the relatives of Virgin, not the least'wil] the news be welcomed, as their position was peculiarly unsatisfactory and painful. The dead man's estate cad now he put through the Courts, enabling the heirs to come into possession without the harrowing wait of years had the discovery not been made.'
