British Parliamentarians were welcomed at a civic luncheon at the Town Hall by the Lord Mayor. The Mayor, concluding*his speech, said; “We are welcoming the directors from 'he head office of John Bull and Co.” Ul l is. sentiment was echoed in other speeches and provoked cheering when Lord Sheffield declared that the visitors and their hosts were all shareholders in the company which the Lord. Mayor omitted to describe as “limited.”

Mr Pirie declared that the treatment j the Party received everywhere was | touching in its sincerity. Perhaps it ( was because they carried a message of goodwill and brotherhood from llm Mother Country to the Dominion, and from Dominion to Dominion. The Government entertained the visitors at a State bancpiet in Parlia-i ment House last night. There was a distinguished gathering, and speech-' es wore made by Mr Holman (Pre-j mier), Lord Emrnott and others, all j of whom sounded a strongly Imperialistic note.
