NKWTOX KING’S WEEKLY REPORT. On Thursday, 2ist inst., at Toko for Mr Jos. Law’s clearing sale, there ■was an exiwik-nt attendance of tin'public. At my Rahotu yards on 22nd inst., I held a clearing sale on account oi .Ur Murray Horo. There was an excellent attendance- of buyers', including a good number from the Plains. The cows were a fine line, and sold under keen bidding, the herd of 88, which included about 12 calved hellers, making a fine average of £9 os. Choice young cows sold at from £ll * 10s to £ls 10s, good cows at £8 15s to £lO 10s, cows carrying rather much age £0 5s to £9 10s, late culvers £5 5 S to £8 10s, empty cows £4 to £4 10s, springing heifers from £5 2s Od to £7 2s Gd, pedigree Jersey bull “Campordown” 13. i guineas, grade Jersey bull £5, Shorthorn bull £8 10s, yearling heifers £2 18s 6d and £2 19s od, calves 3s to IGs, 7 year gelding £3O, 8 year gelding £25, colt £ll 1C:;. At Urenui on Monday I had a very heavy entry of dairy cattle, of which 149 were cleared at the hammer. The herd of 19 cows offered on account of Mrs S. Marsh,Uruti, were a very nice lot, averaging £lO os. Choicest cows sold at from £l2 to £ls 10s, good cows £9 15s to £lO 10s, aged cows £5 10s and £6, 2 quarter cows £5. The springing heifers yarded were a particularly lino lot, mostly Shorthorn, but some choice Jerseys were offered. Competition was keen throughout, especially for the best quality heifers. A very choice Jersey heifer realised £is, other Jerseys £7 5s to £8 10s, best Shorthorn heifers £7 5s to £8 15s, heifers bit backward £5 5s to £6, small £4 2s Gd to £5 ss, dairy cows up to £7 ss. On Tuesday, 26th in my 3aliof.il yards, I had a good entry,
ill pens and races being well filled. Flicre was a good attendance, of buyers, making competition brisk for all cbrses. On Wednesday, 27th inst., for Mr a. Clomow’s sale at Omata, there was a good attendance. Competition for the sheep was very keen', each liru selling at top prices. The dairy herd was not up to expectations, the cows 'laving been in milk since May and Tune and sold accordingly. Some very nice (springing heifers were offered, these selling at from £6 to £3 ss, dairy cows from £4 5s to £8 ss, empty heifers £3 16s 6d, yearling heifers £3 Is, yearling steers (rough) 22 Os Gd, calves 10s to £1 Is, f.f.m. ■wes in lamb 16s 7d, Hampshire ewes u:d lambs £1 4s. good line of woolly hoggets 16s 4d, 2-tooth wethers 17s, small hoggets 9s 9d, f.ra. ewes IQs Gd, bay mare £24, spring cart £ls 10s, pony £2 10s, sundries at satisfactory prices.
