The members of tins Association are strong 111 numbers, and 1. each member will lotaaf/y support it even in a small degree, consequent improvement and progress will result. J he essence ol our success lies in the unity of purpose among the members and the fixed determination on thenpart to make each succeeding show jet ter than the previous one and to maintain our show at such a high .standard that every member can refer to it-with just pride and satisfaction. Additional activity in canvassing fqr stock gifts will prevail, and the Executive Committee appeals to all supporters of tne Association for a sympathetic attitude towards the canvassers. Extension and progress necessarily involve additional funds, and this matter lies entirely in the hands of members. Your Committee has 1 decided to allocate the sum of £lO to the price list of the Gift Stock Committee.

A'ew Members.—The addition of new members i-, reasonably satisfactory, but tliore are many people who would :oin it established members would incite them to do so. If each member would decide to obtain at least one new member, the position of the Association would almost incredibly improve. Mr W. P, Kirkwood has donated £1- Is as a prize to the member who secures most new members in the forthcoming 12 months. Conditional ; License.—Representations were made by a sub-committee of our Association, and the Racing Club to members of the licensing bench and the result is that a conditional license at the -forthcoming show is practically assured. Agricultural Conference.—This rsvas attended by Messrs. R. Dingle and •1.. E. Bine, M.P., on our behhlf, and Mr Dingle’s rqport was both interesting and instructive. The order paper is in the hands of the secretary, and may be perused by the members. The expenses of the trip were returned by Mr Dingle as a special donation to the funds of the Association. Show Dates.—After consultation with other Associations the date of die forthcoming show was fixed for drd and -Ith December.

Siding at Show Grounds.—The Departmental officer of the railway lias, been approached with the above object in view.. There is a possibility that some arrangements within the scope of tiie Association may lie made at the northern boundary of the grounds, and a conference has been sought with the above officer who has nromised to meet a sub-committee and discuss same.

Judges have been selected and written to. and this matter is well in hand. Schedule.—Revision work is well under way, and is nearly completed.Dairy Farm Competition.—-Consid-eration of alteration of conditions are well under way, and will be published as soon as possible. Grounds.—Top-dressing has been done, and in this connection donations were made by Llr Newton King, Loan and Mercantile Agency. W. H. H. Young and F. Copestake. The work was done gratuitously by Messrs. Drake, Dingle, and the Secretary. Drills were lent by Messrs. Newton King and I'd. Newland. The latter also lent a horse. Top-dressing with earth, of the outer part of the oval is about to be put in band. GIFT STOCK. After the election of 27 now members a discussion followed on the question of the best method of allotting prizes for the gift stock. It was resolved to recommend to the Gift Stock Committee that a certain number of each breed be picked out by judges, and sold at auction; the prizes to he awarded to the animals bringing the highest prices in their class.
