I Forty thousand troops participate, in the manoeuvres in September. Mr Hughes, Canadian- Defence Minister, and a large party of Canadian officers will attend, and have been granted special facilities to obtain experience.

Mr Barnes, M.P., speaking at Glasgaw, said the Labor Party had lost the seat at Chesterfield and could 'afford to lose one or two more of the 'same sort. Those, who like Mr Keny|on, were not prepared to support the Labor Party as a separate entity, re'garding it as a mere adjunct to the Liberal Party, had better get outside land associate with those' with whom [they had greater sympathy.

The Review took a plebiscite of ladies on "an ideal husband." The majority described the principal qualities as to be unmiserly, of manly appearance, not to put his face inside the kitchen, not to criticise his wife's ihats, not to drink heavily, not to be fat, and not to be jealous.
