A CHARGE OF ARSON. [Teh Truss Association.] Napier, August 29. As a sequel to the recent lire at Hastings, Patrick Macnamaia was today charged with arson and with making false declaration; in conjunction with Nellie Wills, Macnamara was also charged with conspiring to defraud the Guardian Insurance Co. They were remanded to appear at Hastings on Wednesday.
THE ESTATE OF HERMAN LEWIS Wellington, August 29.
An application for the adjournment of the bankruptcy petition in the estate of Herman Lewis was made in the Supreme Court to-day. Counsel explainod that creditors had set. up an informal committee to report on the position of the missing debtor, and until the report was available the petitioning creditors did not wish to press the order. An adjournment for fourteen days was granted.
