The following resolution was unanimously passed by the Borough Council last night: “That this Council strongly protests against that provision of the Municipal Corporations Bill which seeks to remove the election of the Mayor from the votes’of the people to the vote of the councillors, deeming it undemocratic and against I lie best interests of the people.”
