HAWKER’S SPLENDID PLIGHT

He volplaned down gently, and broke the water outside the harbor. Lig crowds were on hod) piers. ’I he breeze was light, and the machine moved slowly along the water and then sped forward 111 cl upward northwards. The stage of 00 miles to Yarmouth was completed in 90 minutes. There was brilliant weather at Scarborough, and enormous crowds were on the cliff tops. The Lx) miles was covered in ISo minutes. He eycountered many gusts. At one minute the water-plane was at a height of 3000 ft., and the next down to 500 ft. Hawker is well.
OVATIONS FOR HAWKER

Immense crowds assembled at all controls to welcome Hawker. Tlio conditions continue to bo excellent except for coastal fogs. Hawker is well.
Kaupe, who was-upset by the wind, has recovered. He was delayed at Beadnall and Montrose for engine adjustments, but afterwards averaged 68 miles an hour. He left Aberdeen hoping to reach Dublin via Oban, a distance of 450 miles, which is one of the most difficult stages to-day. Otherwise he has slight hope of success. Cromarty was reached ,at 2.0, journeying 134 miles in 130 minutes.
HAWKER AT OBAN. (Received 11.45 a.m.) London,' August 27. Hawker has arrived at Oban, where he remains for the night.
TWO AIRMEN KILLED. (Received 10.15 a.m.) Paris, August 26. Two military airmen were killed at Villa Coublay, falling 150 feet. (Juillaux aeroplancd to Biarritz and Scheasel, north-east to Bremer—9B2 miles. So far ho is the winner of the Pommery Cup.
AT ABERDEEN, London, August 26. Hawker resumed -at 8.5 a.m., and arrived at Aberdeen at 10.45.
