WOLFF FAILS AGAIN

[By Electric Telegraph—Copyright 1 [United Press Association.] (Received 11.5 a.m.)

London, August 26

Wolff started from Cape Griz'Nm, to swim the Channel, but failed when seven miles from Folkestone.- Sulli van, an American, started from South Foreland on a similar errand but hai not since been reported. .[Jabez Wolff has stepped into the shoes of Montague Holbein in the matter of Channel swimming. At ontime, a few years ago, there were periodical reports of Holbein making unsuccessful attempts to swim tin Channel, and now Wolff seems to have assumed the duty of making at least one attempt per year on Captain Webb’s record. Capo Griz Nez, a few miles south of Calais, is a favorite spot for starting cross-Channel swims from the French side.]
