THE GOLDSTEIN TRAGEDY.
EVIDENCE AT THE INQUEST. "By Electrtc Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] Sydney, August 20. At the inquest on Goldstein, a verdict was returned that the father murdered his son and then committed ■suicide. The evidence showed that the father was opposed to bis son ■Harrying a certain girl, and threatened to blow out Ins brains if he did. fie was informed anonymously shortly before the tragedy that his son was married. His son's wife deposed that she was married in May, but did not start housekeeping. A Sydney cablegram, dated August 10, stated:— A mysterious tragedy has occurreo in the city. Mrs Goldstein heard revolver shots in a lower room, and 0' investigation, found Ikm- husband shot dead and a grown-up son seriously wounded. A revolver with throe chambers discharged lay between the bodies. The son has been taken to the hospital and has not regained consciousness. The father and son had a disagreement recently, and the supposition is that they renewed the quarrel.
