A strike of iron moulders at Erie was followed by serious rioting. Three strikers were seriously wounded and scores of others injured before the police suppressed the trouble. ADDITIONAL POLICE CONSTABLES. (Received 9 a.m.) London, August 34. One hundred Dublin police pensioners have been . sworn in as special constables in anticipation' of disturbances arising ; out of the existing strikes. BIG PAINTERS' STRIKE. Five thousand house and ship painters in London have struck for an advance of threepence per hour and recognition of union. There are indications that five thousand unorganised painters will also join. MINERS' INCREASE. The Northumberland coal owners have advanced wages three and threequarter per cent., making an increase of 25 per cent, in the past two years. THE DOG WATCH DISPUTE. [Per Press Association. I Westport, August 25. The Miners' Unions at Granity, Denniston, and Stockton have referred the dog watch difficulty to the Federation Executive. A peaceful settlement of the Blackball difficulty is expected. WEST COAST MINERS. Westport, August 25. The Granity Union resolved: "That tliis meeting of the Granity Miners' Union ask the Blackball miners to put their dispute unreservedly in the hands of the National Executive of the United Federation of Labour; also that we urge the Federation to take up the dispute. Tf not, we will make common cause with tho Blackball miners in their dispute."
