HONORARY TERRITORIALS. [Pbb Press Association.] Ashburton, August 22, At a meeting of 70 gentlemen representatives of the town and suburbs to-night; Mr C. J. Harper, chairman of the Ashbuvton County Council prosiding, it was unanimously and enthusiastically resolved to form an Ashburton Honorary Territorials Association. Mr Harper was elected presithe Revs. J. H.Burgin, J. B^* and .iamesdnges, and Messrs V . .Visworthy, M.P., and John Studholme were allotted vice-presidencies, ami a strong representative committee was set up. Seventy members were enrolled in the room.

At the Magistrate's Court to-day, William Eagle was charged with selling liquor without a license just be,ond tbeconhnes of the Masterton noiicense area and with supplying a. Patrick Donovan and Thomas Lewis, two orisoner* of gaol-breaking notoriety ;$V* been transferred to Auckland and Lyttelton respectively. *m route, Donovan was found in possesion of a. skeleton key that could nave opened his handcuffs, while Lewis had a sandbag tied round his waist.
