STUD NOTES.
Horse-breeders and settlers of Stratford are to be congratulated in having such a fine horst as Gtneral Joubert placed again at their service this season. This horse is a beautiful bay, standing 15.3 hands, is 7 years old, full of quality, and possesses a perfect temper. As will be seen on stud cards this horse descends from the two greatest strains in Australasia, having Rothchild on the sire’s side and Musket on the dam’s. A horse bred on these lines and possessed of such great pace and stamina should command the attention of breeders of harness horses. The oldest of this horde’s stock are now 2 years old, and show great promise and speed. As a racehorse General Joubert has proved himself a good one, by winning races at the principal meetings in the North Island, his last victory being the Wanganui Cup, of 2 miles, on March 22. 1913, in which ho easily defeated a field of twelve, the pick of the North Island. Intending breeders will hr well advised to book early to avoid disappointment.
