CHRIST CHURCH SESSIONS. [Per Press 'Association.] Christchurch, August 21. At the Supreme Court, Walter M. Huston appeared on several charges of receiving stolen property. ihe jury disagreed, and a fresh trial was fixed for Monday. Wilfred Edward Harper pleaded not guilty to a charge on two counts: That on July 25 last, at Lyttelton, with intent to resist his lawful apprehension, he did cause bodily harm to Martin Carney, and that on the same date at Lytetlton he dul cause actual bodily harm to Martin Carney, under such circumstances that if his death had been caused he would have been guilty of manslaughter. He was found guilty. Mr Stringer, Crown Prosecutor, said that the prisoner had been admitted to two yeais reformative treatment by Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M. Ho had been released, but his license was cancelled when the present charge was made. His sentence expired on December 5 next. His Honor said that he did not wish to destroy the value of accused’s reformative treatment, and would sentence accused to a further term of six months’ reformative treatment at the expiration of the present term.

DUNEDIN SESSIONS. Dunedin, August 21. In the Supreme Court to-day, James Wilson, a wood worker, of South Dunedin, applied for a dissolution of his marriage with Elizabeth Heat!) Wilson, on the ground of misconduct. Henry. Jones, of Tokaanu, bush contractor, was joined as co-respondent. Petitioner claimed £250 damages, arid also the custody of two children of the marriage. A decree nisi was awarded as claimed, with costs against the co-respondent on tne lowest scale. A decree nisi was also granted in the case of Albert Joseph Thomas, laborer, of Mosgiel, against Esther Thomas and John Palmer, co-respond-ent. George Mearns, a commercial traveller who was rim down by a horse and cart belonging to the Taieri and Peninsula Milk Supply Company, while riding a motor-bicycle, was awarded £230 damages.
