There was a warm discussion at the meeting of the management committee of the Auckland Rugby League in consequence of Mr McDonald, selector,, having chosen Savoury as one of the team to play against Wellington on Saturday. This player was disqualified for life by the Auckland League for alleged rough play, but the disqualification was removed by the New Zealand Council on appeal by Savoury. A motion that Savoury bo re-registered was defeated by six to four, but Mr McDonald declined to replace Savoury. He said ho was not going to resign—-the league would have to push him out and get another selector. A motion was carried unanimously that Mr McDonald be withdrawn from his position as selector and that Mr Campbell be appointed in his stead, and M. Hayward chosen to replace Savoury in the team.
