TURKEY ADVANCING.
TOWARDS BULGARIA. ADRIANOPLE RESTORED. [By ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH —COPYRIGHT] [United Press Association.] The Turks have occupied Kuchukyavak, in the Gumuljina district, after an engagement with the small Bulgarian garrison. The latter met with but flight casualties. Bulgaria has stopped demobilisation in the district facing the 'I urkish positions. Greece has notified her willingness to evacuate Xanthi, Gumuljina and Dedeagatch to-morrow. It is suggested Bulgaria should occupy them on Friday. Bulgaria objects to the shortness of notice in view of the danger oi Turkish occupation. Austrian military attaches report that Adrianople’s fortifications Have been nearly restored, whilst enormous quantities of ammunition and provisions have been stored in the city. EXCHANGE OF PRISONERS. (Received Noon.) Constantinople, August 20. In connection with the exchange of Greek and Turkish prisoners it is found impossible to approximate the number of Turkish captives. The Greeks state that several thousand of their prisoners died during internment. Xo -cause is given, but the deaths were probably due to cholera.
