M ETR OPOLTT AN. COMMITTED'; ' :i ’ The Taranaki Metropolitan Committee met last night. The following trainees' licenses were granted:—E. Elliot, AV. Mantle, Jas. O'Neill, R. Johnstone, C. H. Moss, J. F. Butler, Chas. Jackson, Jas. Barlow, D J. Goodwin, - R.‘ J. Milne, F. Goddardy Jas. Brown, Thos, Pyne and Percy Johnson. Jockeys’ licenses wore approved as follows: — C. H. Mobs, Jas. Kruse, H. E. Goldfinch., E. Croot, J. Johnson, and E. E. Fowler. Gentleman riders’ certificates were granted to Messrs. X. C. McCrae, F. Audrey and A. J. Darcy. Conditional jockeys’ licenses were granted to A. E. Russell, J. E. Copostake and T. H. Fryer. An N. Goddard, and A. B. Clarke were granted apprentice jockeys’ licenses. The North Taranaki Hunt Club submitted their programme of a meeting to be hold on September 18. This was ' approved by the committee and the use of the Racecourse Grounds was granted them. Permission was also given to the Hunt Club to issue emergency riders’ certificates.
STRATFORD RACING CLUB. Members of the Stratford Racing C lub arc reminded of the annual meeting of members which takes place in, the Municipal Chambers at 8 o’clock this evening. A good attendance is expected.
