THE SUGAR TRUST. 1 By Electric Telegraph—CopyrightJ [United Press Association.] Sydney, August 19. Sir Tudor created a sensation in the House by stating that the Government had proclaimed the Sugar Bounty and Excise Abolition Act at a time when the Colonial Sugar Company, Ltd., held huge reserves, whereon duties amounting to £IOO,OOO would have been levied nad the proclamation been slightly delayed. EX-SPEAKER WILLIS. (Received 8.30 a.m.) Sydney, August 19. In the Assembly, Mr Levy gave notice of motion that in view of the unwarrantable attack made upon the Lieutenant-Governor by ex-Speaker Willis in documents recently tabled, the House considers Mr Willis guilty of conduct unworthy of a member of Parliament. Mr Willis asked the Premier- to take the motion without delay, as it affected his position in the House. Mr Holman promised to consider the request. THE BARRIER STRIKE. Sydney, August 20. Mr McGowen announced that he anticipated that the negotiations in progress would result in the settlement of the Barrier strike.in a day or two. Meantime wholesale firms were unable to deliver goods to retail suppliers who were running short. Mr Meehan was again removed from the Assembly for constantly interrupting the debate,.
