HINDU WiDOW’B DEATH. ABEXTOHS SENTENCE D. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Received 11.5 a.vn.) Delhi, August 19. Four Indians have been sentenced to terms ranging from eighteen months to two years for abetting a widow to become a suttee before fifteen hundred spectators. The prisoners were terrified into helping the woman to commit suicide on her husband’s funeral pyre because she threaetned to invoke curses. v (Sutteeism is the rite of self-immo-lation among Hindu widows.)
