AN ECCENTRIC PIONEER.
FOUNDING SCHOLARS!! I PS. [By Electric Telegraph-Copyright! [United Press Association.] (Received 8.55 a.m.) Melbourne, August 19. William Robbie, a pioneer, aged 91, died at Ballarat. He lived for years in apparent poverty, but after bis death it was discovered that he, owned property to ihe value of £30,090. He bequeathed £650 to relatives and £SO to the Ballarat hospital. The balance of the estate goes to found Bobbie Scholarships in chemistry, mathematics, and natural philosophy in the Aberdeen University.
