Second Edition HEAVY RAIN.

DISLOCATES RAILWAY TRAFFIC IN OTAGO. THREE BREAKS ON MAIN LINE. [Per Press Association.] Dunedin, August 16. There are three breaks on the north and south main line. There is four feet of water on tiie line at Otakia, and all trains are held there. In addition to the break at Burke’s, there is a serious one at Puketeraki. The first express north was an hour late in getting through the Burke’s break, and will probably be three or four hours late reaching Christchurch. All the South branch lines will be blocked till Monday.

The great trouble with the railway authorities is to get their supplies of coal.

It is expected that the special race train from Christchurch to-night will get through clear.
