MR T LAMASOX'S REPORT. Mr T. I. Lamason's reports that lit' held his usual Saturday sale with a very good attendance of the public, also a catalogue of poultry, vegetables, furniture and sundries. MERCANTILE. AGEXCY CO'S. REPORT. The Xew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Stratford Branch, report as follows: On Monday, 11th inst., we held a clearing sale on account of Mr W. J. Hughes, Mountain Road, near Tariki. There was a very large attendance of the public from all parts of the district and bidding was very good considering that a large number of the 'cattle were only 3 year olds and carryling 2nd calves, condition also not too good. Besides this, 7 or.B CMS were already in milk, which detracted considerably from their value. For anything well grown and .showing quality the bidding was good and the cows averaged £8 Kis. The following prices were realised:—Milk cans 15s, saddle -1%, single furrow lever plough £G Ids, cultivator harrows 70s, tine harrows 70s, grass mower 114 s, milk curt £H>. harness 57s' 6d, gig £l(s 10s,' gig harness 955, - light mare ('aged) £8 12s !>d, milk cart horse £l6 ss, Midhirst laetorv shares 16s 9d each,

cow covers from 5s 6d to 10s (3d. Other cundries, met with good prices. Calves 12s, 13k, 14s up to .30s, sow (young) ,£3, sow showing well in pig £B, yearling heifers showing Jersey £l, £1 ss, £1 7s 6d, £1 15s, Shorthorn springing heifers £5 5s to £5 7s (3d, ] cow;-- (Shorthorn cross) £l2 10s, £ll 110 s, £lolos, £lO, £9, £8 ss, £B, £7 [ 15s, £7, store cows made from £•! 5s ito £5 10s for backward stuff, 1 3teater made £6 10s.

On Tuesday, 12th iiist., we held our usual fortnightly sale in our Stratford yards. Owing to the previous day having been very rough the yarding consisted of 304 head cattle, 41 ewes and 2 horses. Most of the yarding was cleared at the hammer or afterwards at fair prices. There was a very nice line of young stock in, on account of a local farmer, which attracted a lot of attention, but were passed in. The following {values were realised,: —Mixed yearlings (inferior) 45s to 17s (3d, yearlings well grown and good colour up to 57s 6jd, yearling heifers showing Jersey and Shorthorn cross from 1 70 sto 80s, yearling heifers showing' Jersey and Holstpin from 77s to 85s, Jersey-Holstein yearling heifers,, vSjjij'nicje line, were, .sold after the. Since we last' reported there has. been a good demand for all classes of stock, paddock sales having been effected at the following prices:—Mixed weaners 34s to 475, yearling steers from .50s to 555, yearling Holstein cross heifers 80s, 85s and 955, 2 year old steers from 74s to 80s, 3 year old steers 110 s to 117 s 6d, dairy cows from £(i to £8 12s 6d and £9, ewes (aged"! 13s to 15s, hoggets (small) 10s 6d to 12s 6d, mixed ewe hoggets (small) 9s Gd to 12s fxl.
