LATE LOCALS.
A Dur.odin P.A. wire says :—Heavy rain continues. Some farms on the Taieri Plain are flooded, while the outlook at Kaitangata is causing alarm to the residents.
At the Magistrate's Court the defended case of J. H. Robson (Mr Thomson) v. Messrs E. and R. McCluggage (Mr R. Spence), a claim for half costs of an arbitration award, paid by plaintiff, was settled tin's morning, defendants paying the amounts of the claim.
Only one defended case occupied the time of the Magistrate (Mr Kenrick) at the Court this morning. The defendants in the case J. A. Stanford (Mr Spratt),v. Hamerton Bros, did not appear, although they gave notice of intention to do so. Judgment for the full amount claimed £27 19s 5d was entered, Court costs £2 10s, and solicitor's fee £2 2s. ,
