The authorities are fully alive to the necesity of an alteration of tho existing law. THE LAND QUESTION. (Received 8.0 a.m.) Mr Thome (Liberal member for Wolverhampton East), has introduced a bill providing that alter the first o January, persons holding above fift; acres of uncultured land and guilty c 1 i misdemeanour upon conviction, shall be ejected, and the land invested thenceforth in the Commissioner of Woods and Forests, the ejected person receiving from the Consolidated Fund,, a sun/equal to five years' produce from tho land before conviction.
