Mr R. Williamson, of Roxburgh,! the newly-appointed Home Missionary, for Toko, arrived this week in Strat-j ford, and has taken up his duties in Toko. He will preach in Huiroa, Toko Road, and Toko on Sunday. Mr T. E. Hammer ton proprietor of the Ingle wood Record", was the victim of a trap accident yesterday afternoon while travelling bo- Kaimata in connection with the tragedy. The News states that Mr Hammerton was driving with a .lady in the trap, when the horse was startled by a mo'cor cycle, and the trap was upset. The occupants were thrown out, but fortunately escaped with a few bruises.

Mr Thomas Brash, died at Ratanui, Carrington Road, on Wednesday evening. He .came to New Zealand in 1875, and after spending a short time in Wellington and Auckland) he shifted to Taranaki, where he has resided ever since. Years ago he owned the Sentry Hill flouraiilT, and afterwards was manager of the Farmers' Co-opera-tive Store in New Plymouth. He leaves a widow and three daughters. The daughters are Mrs Cowling, of Christclmrcli, and Misses Alice and Zit Brash, of New Plymouth. Mr Mills, Superintendent of the Presbyterian Orphanage, Wellington, will visit Stratford at the end of the week and occupy the St. Andrew's pulpit, Sunday morning and evening, when he will speak of the work amongst the children. The Rev. o. Pattison goes to Kaponga on Sunday to help Mr C. A. Stuart in the commencement of an evangelistic mission.
