MINISTERIAL VISIT.
| HON. W. FRASfcR IN TARANAEX; The Hon. W. Fraser, Minister Hf Public Works, arrived at Stratford from Wellington last light by the express train, and, accompanied by Mr J. B. Hine, M.P., went on to Whangamomona shortly after 7 p.m. To*day he is inspecting the road which was damaged by the heavy traffic of the Public Works Department, in view «f the County Council's claim for compensation. He also inspected the railway construction works and received several deputations. To-night he is to be banquetted in the Town Hall by the settlers, Mr F. Lundon acting as Hon. Secretary of the BanquettinJ Committee. With its usual hospitable regard for Stratford, Whangamomona invited the Mayor (Mr W."p. Kirkwood) and many leading business men to be present at to-night's gathering. Quite a number went out but others were regretfully prevented by business pressure from making the journey.
