Tne committee appointed to 'consider Mr Lowers’ request re right-of-way reported: Your Committee have to report that Mr Lowers waited on the committee and withdrew Mr Lawrence’s letter. He stated his
willingness to pay £4 IDs towards the cost of repairing drain if the Council would permanently relieve him of twotiiirds of tiie rates levied on the right-of-way. In connection with this matter your committee have no recommendation to make.—Adopted. The Borough Inspector reported; During July I impounded 19 head ol cattle. Four persons were convicted for driving without lights, one for riding a motor cycle without a light and one for allowing cattle to wander. I also put in If street lights, one light in the public reading-room, and two 100 c.p. lights in front of the Town Hall,
The Abattoir Manager reported : During July the. following stock were slaughtered: Cows 56, heifers- 42, oscen 19, calves 2, sheep 295, lambs 4, pigs 32„ tripes cleaned 66. Revenue: Slaughtering fees £59 3s, paddock rents £l2 10s, sale of blood and offal £4 10s, total £76 3s. Stock condemned: Three cows partially, 1 pig wholly, 1 pig partially. The,coal shed has been completed. He submitted the following table of the kills of the various, butchers:—
