SENSATIONAL REPORTSTREATY WITH JAPAN. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] Times—Sydney Sun Special Cables. New York, August 11. There are sensational reports from Mexico relative to the diplomatic mission of General Diaz. There is a growing belief that Japan is entering into a treaty with Mexico with the intention of sending 50,000 colonists to'the State of Morelos, which has boon depopulated as a result of the rebellion.
General Huerta’s followers are increasing as the result of his defianrt of President Wilson, and there is belief that the United States is preparing to repeat the Cuban tactics, upholding the revolutionaries by force of arms.
General Huerta insists on the unqualified recognition of himself as President, but a depleted Treasury renders his war threats harmless. PRESIDENT WILSON’S PLAN. (Received 8.5 a.m.) London, August 11. The Chronicle’s Washington correspondent states that President Wilson’s plan does not aim at mediation, but is an effort to secure Huerta’s resignation, giving Huerta a chance of saving his face. If ho refuses, the United States will give official as-
sistance to the Constitutionalists, whom President Wilson believes will then be strong enough to overthrow Huerta.
