AUSTRALIAN JOCKEY CLUB. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright ) [United’ Press Association.] (Received 8 a.m.) Sidney, August 9. The report of the Australian Jockey Club shows that after expending £21,690 on improvements and £62,750 on added money, the club ended the season with a surplus of £16,857. The added money provided for the current season is £70,750. This provides for an increase of the prizes for the Spring Stakes to £ISOO, Randwick Plate £2OOO, Granham Stakes' £750, Villiers Stakes £IOOO, December Stakes £1250, Summer Cup £ISOO, Anniversary Handicap £IOOO, Autumn Stakes £ISOO, A.J.C. Plate £2OOO, Sires’ Produce Stakes £2500. The prizes of other events are increased by £SO to £250. The report states that the control of stipendiary stewards had proved quite satisfactory.
