AUTOMATIC JUDGE OF- RACES. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [Sydney Sun Special Cable.] Paris, August 4. Successful trials, have been made of the Maison-Lafitte automatic photographic apparatus for judging races. The winning horse breaks a thread attached to the camera when passing the post. THE V.R.C. (Received 8.40 a.m.) Melbourne, August 5. At the annual meeting of the Victorian Racing Club, the Chairman stated that it had been thought wise in 'the interests of racing to appoint stipendiary stewards. The Club had every ronfideneo in the men selected. fho Committee was much in of uiie tbtalisator, but were waiting developments. If the Bill passed in Sydney, tho Committee would seriously consider what should be done in Victoria.
DUNEDIN' JOGKEY CLUB. [PiiR Press Association, i Dunedin, August 4. At a meeting of the committee of bhe Dunedin Jockey Club this afternoon, it was decided to increase the vtakes by i. 1075 season, made up as follow.,:—Spring Meeting, £3oo} summer Meeting, £Bo] Autumn Meeting, £640; Winter name'of ih& Railway Plato race, is to be altered to the Hazlett Memorial Plate.
