FINES FOR GAMBLING.
AT CHIXKSE HOUSES

Two Chinese were fined £25 each or six weeks’ imprisonment for being occupiers of common .gambling houses. Three other Chinese and ten Europeans were fined 40s each or three days’ imprisonment for being found on the premieses. Another European were fined 20s for giving warning of the police approach.
