MURDER CHARGES.

Auckland, August 1
A charge of murder was preferrec against Alice Sarah Williamson it tho Police Court. The charge had beei amended from one of having, at Henderson, on July 17, assaulted Eller Ahlgreen so as to cause her actua bodily harm. As there was not sufficient tune to deal with the case, a remand was granted until Tuesday.

Christchurch, August 1
At Lyttelton ibis morning, Wilfred Edward Harper was charged with “having, on July 25, at Lyttelton, with intent to resist lawful arrest, discharged at Martin Carney, a rifle loaded with destructive material, with intent to murder.” Sergt. Ryan said that Detective Carney was still confined in tho hospital. He therefore, asked that the charge should be adjourned until Friday. Tho application was granted.
