A WOODVILLE SCARE

There is a bit of a smallpox scare here this morning, and a young man named Bernard Morgan, a painter on the railway, left for Auckland on Wednesday, where he developed the disease yesterday. He lived in the Commercial Hotel here for seven days, and the landlord has been instructed to lock up and fumigate the room where the man slept. Tire Health officer arrives at midHay.
People were anxious for vaccina tion, but lymph is scarce, Masterton, August 1.
